Description
All exterior wood naturally fades over time, but UV Protection Oil is formulated to preserve the wood's original color and significantly slow the greying process—up to 12 times longer compared to untreated wood. It is ideal for use on vertical surfaces such as windows, doors, cladding, fencing, and other joinery (not recommended for horizontal surfaces like decking).
Features & Benefits:
- Specifically designed for vertical structures
- Natural oil-based, microporous finish that resists cracking, flaking, peeling, and blistering
- Water and dirt resistant, moisture regulating, and reduces wood swelling and shrinkage
- Coverage: Approximately 18m² per litre with one coat
- Colour: Clear
- Number of coats: 2
- Application temperature: +5°C to 35°C
- Drying time: 12 hours
- Size: 750ml
- Recommended for: Oak, Beech, Ash, Alder, Birch, and various hardwoods such as Iroko, Mahogany, Teak, Walnut, Ipe, Merbau, Wenge, Rosewood, Sycamore, and Pressure-Impregnated Pine.
For new or sanded softwoods like Cedar, Larch, and Sapele, it is recommended to allow exposure to the exterior elements for a specified period before application:
- Cedar, Iroko, Mahogany, Teak, Walnut, Ipe, Merbau, Wenge, Rosewood, Sycamore: Approx. 12 weeks exposure
- Sapele: Approx. 3-4 weeks exposure
- Larch: Approx. 2 weeks exposure
For other hardwood species, exposure times may vary, so further consultation may be needed. After the weathering period, it is recommended to use a wood reviver gel and clean the surface before applying the oil (always trial apply).
